I can totally agree with you jackie. I am trying to get answers for myself. My brother and his wife are raging alcoholics. They have a 3 year old son together and I love this child with all my heart. She also has a son from a previous marriage and he now lives with his dad because of all the drinking and fighting, he couldnt deal with it all. Well, the 3 year old is still there in the house and I am trying to figure out how I can force them into a rehab or something to get help. I will gladly care for my little nephew in the meantime, my husband and I are financially stable enough to care for him and he would have a safe loving environment right here, I dont want to risk my relationship with my brother over all this but they need some serious help!!! His wife's whole family has drinking problems they cant get together without drinking. They even got very drunk for my nephews 1st, 2nd, and 3rd birthday party! She got drunk almost every night with wine when she was pregnant with my nephew!!! I need some advice on where to go for help and how to get him out of this situation, for God sake he is 3 1/2 and they wont even step away from their boose long enough to potty train him. Then one day we were at a family gathering and he was running around with a pull up full of pee and she said to wait another hour to change it because she just changed it an hour ago and they hold alot and they are expensive to keep buying all the time...well if they didnt drink so much they could afford it.

I'm reading these blogs with a heavy heart. My brother and his wife are alcholics and they have three children (15, 13, 12). My daughter is close to the 13 year old. The other two are boys. It seems now that my brother is trying to keep my niece from coming to my house, because he says she always comes home angry.

He refuses to face the truth about their life. He wants to blame me for his daughter coming home angry. I don't know what to do.
